Central Home Minister Amit Shah held a telephone consultation with Chief Minister Himanta Viswa Sharma as the state of Assam has been severely affected by the rains and floods.
109 people lost their lives due to heavy rains and floods in Assam. In the districts including Dibrugarh, Kolagat, Kamrup, 5 lakh 97 thousand people have suffered severe damage due to rain and flood.
In this situation, Central Home Minister Amit Shah contacted Assam Chief Minister Himanta Viswa Sharma on phone and assured that all assistance will be provided to deal with the flood.
Similarly, Amit Shah also contacted Chief Ministers of Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh who have been affected by rains and inquired about the situation.
