5 people were killed when a goods vehicle rammed into the pilgrims on foot pilgrimage to the Samayapuram Mariamman temple near Valambakkudi in Thanjavur district. BJP state president Annamalai has condoled with the families of the deceased.

The news is very saddening that 5 people were killed in an accident on the Tanjore-Trichy highway when a vehicle hit the pilgrims who were on a pilgrimage to the Samayapuram temple.
My deepest condolences to their families. Annamalai has requested the devotees to be very careful while walking on the roads and if possible, wear safety equipment like Reflector Jacket while walking on the highways.
