A 4-year-old boy who fell into a 180-foot-deep well in Uttar Pradesh after about eight hours of struggle has been rescued safely.
Sotlal hails from the village of Tariya near Agra in Uttar Pradesh.
His four-year-old son Shiva was playing yesterday morning. At 7.30am he fell into a 180-foot-deep deep well that had not been closed there.
Police and firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving information. In addition, a 32-member National Disaster Rescue Force and a 28-member State Disaster Rescue Force were involved in the boy’s rescue.
The rescue operation, which began at 9 a.m., continued until the evening. Police initially found the boy trapped at a depth of 90 feet. Following that, the boy was given oxygen, glucose and biscuits.
The boy was later rescued by police using a loop technique. Rescue operations began at 9 a.m. and ended at 4.30 p.m.
Doctors who examined the boy said he was fine. However, the boy was taken to hospital as he was tired.
