TVK Leader Vijay Criticizes DMK Govt’s Budget Announcements as Empty Promises

TVK Leader Vijay Criticizes DMK Government’s Budget Announcements as Empty Promises

The Tamil Nadu government recently presented the 2025-26 budget in the State Assembly, announcing several new schemes and key initiatives. However, TVK (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam) leader Vijay has strongly criticized the budget, stating that the DMK government’s announcements are nothing but empty promises made for publicity. In his statement, he questioned whether these announcements would actually be implemented and accused the government of making grand statements without any commitment to execution.

Key Points of Vijay’s Criticism:

1. Distribution of Laptops to School Students – Will It Ever Happen?

The budget has once again promised free laptops for school students, a scheme that has been announced multiple times in the past but never fully implemented. Vijay questioned when the government plans to actually distribute these laptops, demanding clarity on the timeline and execution. He criticized the government for repeatedly making unfulfilled promises to students.

2. Parandur Airport Project – A Betrayal of Farmers!

The budget announced that work on the new international airport at Parandur would be expedited. However, this project involves land acquisition, which threatens the livelihoods of farmers in the region. Vijay condemned the government for ignoring the voices of farmers and pushing forward with a project that displaces them. He pointed out that farmers and local residents have been protesting against the project for a long time, but the government has failed to address their concerns.

3. No Mention of the Old Pension Scheme – A Disappointment for Government Employees

For years, Tamil Nadu government employees have been demanding the reintroduction of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), which provides better financial security after retirement. However, the budget did not include any announcement regarding this demand. Vijay slammed the government for failing to address one of the most pressing concerns of its employees, calling it a major letdown.

4. No Update on Permanent Employment for Contract Workers

Temporary and contract-based government employees, including teachers, doctors, and public sector workers, have been demanding permanent job status. However, the budget did not include any commitment to regularizing their jobs. Vijay pointed out that thousands of workers across different sectors have been waiting for this decision, yet the government has once again ignored their demands.

DMK Government is Only Focused on Publicity – Vijay’s Accusation

Vijay accused the DMK government of focusing more on announcements and less on execution. He stated that the government has repeatedly made big promises in past budgets, but many of them remain unfulfilled. He criticized the government for failing to prioritize real development and instead engaging in publicity-driven politics.

People Will Respond in the 2026 Elections

Vijay warned that the people of Tamil Nadu will not be fooled by the DMK government’s false promises. He stated that in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections, people will hold the government accountable for its failures and make the right decision for a better future.

Final Thoughts

Vijay urged the DMK government to focus on real development and fulfill its promises instead of making empty announcements. He warned that if the government continues to mislead the people, the voters will reject them in the next election.
