Statement by the Secretariat Employees’ Union:

The Secretariat Employees’ Union has issued a statement expressing deep disappointment over the absence of any significant announcements in the recent budget regarding the electoral promises made to government employees.

The union has alleged that the DMK government has completely ignored the expectations and welfare of government employees and teachers, despite the commitments made before the elections.

According to the statement, the electoral promises made by the DMK government for government employees have remained unfulfilled and now seem to have completely faded away.

Additionally, key demands such as salary hikes, pay scale revisions, regularization of temporary employees, job security, and reduction in workload have not been addressed in the budget, leading the union to conclude that it is an anti-teacher and anti-government employee budget.

The union further pointed out that successive governments have historically made pre-election promises to government employees, only to later disregard them, leaving employees feeling cheated and neglected.

In this context, the Secretariat Employees’ Union strongly stated that government employees and teachers will never forgive rulers who fail to fulfill their promises and warned that such actions will have consequences in the future.
