Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy has announced that ration goods will soon be delivered directly to the homes of family cardholders in the state.
The Puducherry Legislative Assembly session is currently underway. Following the presentation of the state budget, members of the Assembly raised various important issues during the question hour.
During the session, BJP MLA Vivilian Richards Johnkumar from the Nellithope constituency stated that a majority of the public do not collect the free rice provided by the state government, indicating possible issues in its distribution.
Responding to his query, Chief Minister N. Rangasamy assured that the Puducherry government is planning to implement a new system where ration goods will be delivered directly to the homes of family cardholders. He explained that this initiative aims to help beneficiaries receive essential commodities without the need to visit ration shops, thereby saving time and effort. This move is expected to improve the efficiency of the public distribution system and ensure better service to cardholders.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the welfare of the people, emphasizing that food supplies will be distributed seamlessly to avoid any inconvenience. He also stated that this initiative will be implemented soon to benefit all eligible citizens.
