The Supreme Court Judge for MP and MLA cases, who is handling Senthil Balaji’s case, has been directed by the Supreme Court to submit a new report on the case proceedings by May 2.

Background of the Case:

During the AIADMK regime, a case was filed against former minister Senthil Balaji, alleging that he had accepted bribes in exchange for securing government jobs. In response, Y. Balaji filed a petition in the Supreme Court, requesting a speedy trial of the case.

Current Developments:

The case was taken up for hearing again today in the Supreme Court. During the proceedings, the lawyer representing the petitioner stated that there are a total of four cases related to Senthil Balaji. Among them, one case has a large number of witnesses, and he suggested that this case could be handled separately.

Additionally, the petitioner urged the court to issue an order for the swift trial of the remaining three cases.

Supreme Court’s Order:

In response, the Supreme Court directed the Special Court Judge for MP and MLA cases to issue summons to all parties involved in Senthil Balaji’s cases and to finalize the dates for the hearings.

Furthermore, the Supreme Court ordered that a new report on the progress of the case should be submitted by May 2.

This directive has heightened expectations regarding when a final resolution to Senthil Balaji’s case will be reached.
