Allegations of Corruption in the 100-Day Employment Scheme – Annamalai’s Accusation

Allegations of Corruption in the 100-Day Employment Scheme – Annamalai’s Accusation

Tamil Nadu BJP state president Annamalai has alleged that the 100-day employment scheme, a key rural development initiative, is plagued by ongoing corruption. A recent incident in Virudhunagar district has sparked controversy regarding this issue.

Tension During the Gram Sabha Meeting

In Virudhunagar district, a Gram Sabha meeting was allegedly used as a means to mobilize people and make them participate in a protest organized by the DMK, according to Annamalai.

Opposing this, Meena, the BJP’s Aruppukottai North Union Deputy President, directly questioned DMK Minister K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran about the matter. Reports suggest that as soon as she raised the question, the minister, unable to provide a response, left the venue immediately.

Central Government’s Fund Allocation to Tamil Nadu

Annamalai pointed out that in the past four years, the central government had allocated ₹39,339 crore for the 100-day employment scheme in Tamil Nadu, which is the highest amount provided to any state in the country. He further mentioned that this information was clearly stated in Parliament by Union Ministers.

Although the scheme is being implemented with the help of the central government, questions remain about whether these funds are being used properly or misappropriated.

DMK Government’s Alleged Scams – Annamalai’s Strong Claims

Annamalai stated:
“The DMK government refuses to provide transparency about the funds allocated to Tamil Nadu. Where did this money go? How much was actually spent for the welfare of the people? How much was siphoned off through corrupt practices?”

Despite multiple complaints filed by the BJP regarding financial irregularities in the 100-day employment scheme, no significant action has been taken, which, according to Annamalai, is a betrayal of the people.

Public Awareness and Political Consequences

Annamalai further remarked:
“The people of Tamil Nadu are no longer willing to believe the DMK’s corrupt political drama. They have begun to realize the truth, and they will respond appropriately in the elections.”

As a result, the issue of corruption in the 100-day employment scheme is expected to gain further attention and impact the political landscape in Tamil Nadu.
