Senior BJP leader H. Raja has criticized the Tamil Nadu government and police department for their actions.
In a post on his social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), he alleged that the Tamil Nadu government and police refusing permission for the Rama Rath Yatra is an act of blatant anti-Hindu discrimination.
Coimbatore Bomb Blast and Police Actions H. Raja referred to the 1998 Coimbatore bomb blasts, in which 58 innocent Hindus were killed. He pointed out that after the death of Al-Umma Basha, the prime accused in the blasts, the Tamil Nadu police deployed 2,000 officers to provide security for his funeral procession and granted permission for it.
Criticism of the Tamil Nadu Government’s Actions H. Raja further criticized the Tamil Nadu government for granting permission for ‘Happy Street’ events in major cities, which, according to him, lead to cultural degradation and the spread of drug abuse. At the same time, he alleged that the police allowed the banned terrorist organization PFI to conduct human chain protests in support of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK).
Shaheen Bagh Protests and Police Approval He also accused the police of permitting continuous protests by Islamic organizations under the name ‘Shaheen Bagh’ against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), where tents were set up in various cities of Tamil Nadu for several days.
Denial of Permission for Rama Rath Yatra H. Raja condemned the Tamil Nadu police and government for denying permission to Ram devotees for conducting the Rama Rath Yatra in Ayothiyapattinam, Salem, on the occasion of Ram Navami. He stated that this is a clear act of discrimination against Hindus.
Secularism and Criticism of the Tamil Nadu Government He accused Chief Minister M. K. Stalin’s Dravidian model government of claiming to be secular while acting against Hindus alone. He argued that while people of other religions are granted full rights, Hindus are unfairly denied permission for their religious events. According to him, this exposes the government’s biased stance.
Tamil Nadu Police’s Actions Under Scrutiny Concluding his post, H. Raja stated, “The Tamil Nadu police’s actions against Hindus and their opposition to Ram devotees must be strongly condemned. This shows how the government treats Hindus like refugees in their own land.”
His remarks have sparked intense debate in Tamil Nadu politics. As a senior BJP leader, H. Raja’s allegations have raised questions about the stance of the Tamil Nadu government and the functioning of the police department.
