“Do Not Mistake Our Silence for Weakness” – Tamil Nadu BJP Chief Annamalai Slams DMK
Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai has strongly criticized the ruling DMK and its ministers, cautioning that the BJP’s silence should not be interpreted as a sign of weakness.
In a recent post on social media, Annamalai referred to K. Ponmudy, who was formerly the Minister for Higher Education and is currently serving as the Minister for Forests and Khadi. He stated that removing Ponmudy from his party post does not absolve the wrongdoings or erase public memory, and assuming that it would is unfortunate.
He further remarked that Chief Minister M. K. Stalin should hang his head in shame for backing and promoting leaders like Ponmudy, calling it a disgraceful move.
Annamalai also alleged that the DMK is consistently attacking the pillars of Hindu Dharma — particularly Shaivism and Vaishnavism — under the guise of rationalism and politics. He firmly stated, “Do not mistake our silence for weakness,” sending a clear warning to the ruling party.
These strong statements by the BJP leader signal an intensification of ideological and political confrontations in Tamil Nadu. With cultural and religious themes taking center stage in state politics, Annamalai’s remarks are expected to stir fresh debates and provoke reactions from the DMK leadership.
