India’s Strikes on Pakistan Based on Righteousness – Annamalai’s Statement
Annamalai, a national executive committee member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), recently stated that India’s actions against Pakistan are based on righteousness and justice. Speaking to reporters at Tuticorin Airport, he asserted that India is not engaging in aggression, but responding to terrorism originating from Pakistani soil in a morally justified manner.
He highlighted that Pakistan-backed terrorists were responsible for the deaths of more than 20 civilians in India, including a high-ranking civil officer. Furthermore, Pakistan has been sending drones into Indian territory to carry out attacks, he claimed. In response to these acts of terror, India has targeted only those terrorist elements within Pakistan, not the country or its civilians as a whole. This, he said, is a clear example of a righteous retaliation, guided by justice and national security.
Annamalai strongly condemned Pakistan for repeatedly supporting cross-border terrorism and pointed out that the country does not function as a fully democratic nation. He remarked that in Pakistan, it is not the civilian government but the military that controls the state, and the civilian leadership merely follows orders from the armed forces. This, he argued, makes it difficult to engage with Pakistan through regular diplomatic or peaceful channels.
He emphasized India’s growing global stature, noting that Pakistan’s economy is only one-twelfth the size of India’s. India, he said, is a responsible global power that does not attack any nation for territorial gains. Rather, it acts only in self-defense against those who threaten its people and sovereignty.
“This is not a war between two countries,” Annamalai stated. “It is a war against terrorism, and one that may not end today or tomorrow.” He stressed that India must continue to act decisively until such threats are neutralized. He further asserted that Pakistan must fear the consequences of every terrorist act it allows to take place on its soil.
Commenting on the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s recent march in support of army personnel, Annamalai welcomed the gesture. However, he urged the Chief Minister to extend complete support to the Indian government during this critical time, especially when national security is at stake.
When asked about the Tamil Nadu government’s celebration of four years in office, Annamalai remarked that it was four years of pain for the people. He criticized the government’s handling of the economy, claiming that Tamil Nadu was slipping backward under the current administration.
In summary, Annamalai presented a firm and clear picture of India’s stance: India strikes not for vengeance, but for justice. Its operations are directed only at those who disrupt peace and security, and every action is taken with the larger goal of preserving the nation’s integrity and protecting innocent lives. This, he said, is the essence of righteous governance.
