Man Uses Pet Snakes to Threaten Women and Girls, Commits Sexual Assaults in Kota, Rajasthan
In a disturbing case from Kota city, Rajasthan, a 29-year-old man named Mohammad Imran has been accused of sexually assaulting multiple women and girls by threatening them using pet snakes. Imran resides in the Railway Colony police station jurisdiction area and has been involved in various fraudulent activities, including posing as a traditional herbal healer.
Imran’s wife, Asmin (25), is also reportedly involved in some aspects of the case. Imran has been raising snakes and scorpions at his home, which he allegedly used as tools of intimidation against his victims. According to police reports, he also engaged in monetary fraud involving large sums from elderly individuals in the area.
The case came to light when a relative of one elderly victim visited Imran’s house to discuss a financial dispute. During this visit, the relative discovered a video on Imran’s mobile phone showing the sexual assault of a young girl, who is related to the elderly victim. Shocked and horrified, the relative immediately reported the matter to the police.
Following the complaint, the police arrested Imran and seized counterfeit currency notes worth approximately ₹7.20 lakh from him. The investigation revealed that Imran used his pet snakes to instill fear in his victims, coercing them into submission for sexual abuse. The victims, including minors, reported that Imran threatened to release the snakes on them if they disclosed the assaults.
Police officials have indicated that Asmin may have helped record the assault video on her mobile phone. Currently, the couple is absconding, and law enforcement authorities are actively searching for them.
Kota’s Superintendent of Police, Amritha Thuhan, stated that Imran was produced in court and remanded in police custody until May 23 for further investigation. Authorities are investigating the extent of the abuse and the number of victims involved in this case.
This case has raised serious concerns about the safety of women and children in the community. It highlights the urgent need for better protection laws, public awareness, and coordinated action from law enforcement agencies to prevent such heinous crimes.
