Warner, known for portraying Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show, dies at 54 while on holiday.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the American performer most recognized for his role as Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show, has passed away at the age of 54, according to a report by PEOPLE magazine.

As per the publication, Warner drowned while swimming during a family trip to Costa Rica, citing its own sources. An official statement from his team has yet to be released.

Warner gained popularity portraying the warm-hearted son of Bill Cosby’s character, Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable, on the beloved sitcom The Cosby Show, which was broadcast between 1984 and 1992. His role earned him widespread recognition and solidified his status in television culture.

In a 2023 conversation with PEOPLE, Warner reflected on his time with the show, saying, “I believe I speak for the entire cast when I say that The Cosby Show remains something we all continue to take great pride in.”
