Sumeet Raghavan Says Upcoming Wagle Ki Duniya Episode Is Dedicated to Mumbai Residents

The recent episodes of Wagle Ki Duniya shed light on the challenges experienced by numerous people living in the fast-paced city of Mumbai, especially due to building redevelopment issues.

Sony SAB’s Wagle Ki Duniya continues to capture viewers’ hearts through its clever mix of humour and realistic depictions of daily middle-class life. The next set of episodes will follow the same path. In a storyline filled with emotion, the new episodes will revolve around the redevelopment of the Sai Darshan Society. This arc also reflects the true difficulties encountered by many in Mumbai.

As real estate prices climb and their building is chosen for redevelopment, the excitement of residents slowly shifts to anxiety. Vandana (Pariva Pranati) starts looking for a temporary residence, while Dakku (Deepak Pareek) conducts a Satyanarayan pooja for everyone’s protection. Meanwhile, a strong tremor hits the building at night, shaking its foundation. After this frightening incident, children Atharva, Krishna, and Kittu go missing. Following a detailed search, Rajesh (Sumeet Raghavan), Dharmesh (Khanjan Thumber), and Dakku manage to locate them unharmed.

The following morning, cracks appear in several apartments as a result of the tremor. When the residents come together to choose a developer for the building’s redevelopment, their hopes are crushed after the builder is taken into custody for construction-related fraud. With their original plans in disarray and heavy rainfall making things worse, the residents are left to manage with temporary solutions and each other’s assistance.

“This storyline will resonate with many, especially in a place like Mumbai where redevelopment impacts countless households. It’s more than just tearing down and rebuilding structures – it involves people’s emotions, memories, and lives,” said actor Sumeet Raghavan, who portrays Rajesh Wagle, in a statement to Etimes.

He added, “What stood out to me was how the episode not only highlighted the redevelopment process but also portrayed the emotional burden it places on families. It was touching to see the humour, the strong bond among community members, and the genuine hardships of urban living. The episode successfully blends entertainment with the seriousness of what redevelopment truly feels like.”
