‘We Didn’t Announce War’: Amit Shah Explains Why India Ceased Action Against Pakistan

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday clarified that India had not declared war against Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, stating that it was a “limited aggression” aimed at terror camps following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Replying to the Opposition’s questions on why a ceasefire was declared, Shah said in the Rajya Sabha, “We did not even announce a war (against Pakistan). So what ceasefire are you referring to? It was limited aggression — a strike on terrorism and an exercise of our rightful claim to self-defence.”
