‘National Security Is Our Highest Priority’: PM Modi Praises JP Nadda’s Response In Operation Sindoor Debate

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said BJP president JP Nadda gave a detailed explanation of how the Central Government acted after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, with “complete determination and firmness.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday appreciated BJP national president JP Nadda’s response during the ‘Operation Sindoor’ discussion in the Rajya Sabha.

Modi said Nadda gave “highest priority to national security” and provided a detailed account of how the Centre acted after the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, with “complete determination and resolve.” He further mentioned that Nadda explained how ‘Operation Sindoor’ was successful in achieving its intended aim.

“Do listen to this speech by Shri JP Nadda Ji in the Rajya Sabha, where he outlines how our Government has given topmost priority to national security, the success of Operation Sindoor in the anti-terror operation, and much more,” Modi posted on X.

“Our government responded to the Pahalgam terror strike with full resolve and determination… J.P. Nadda ji explained in detail in the Rajya Sabha how Operation Sindoor fulfilled its mission,” he added.

‘Operation Sindoor’ was India’s retaliatory move following the Pahalgam attack, during which Indian armed forces carried out strikes targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir in May.

A day earlier, the opposition had raised several queries to the Centre about the military operation and also demanded clarification on the statement made by US President Donald Trump regarding mediating a ceasefire between India and Pakistan during the following military tension. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, accused the government of “lacking political intent” in its response to Pakistan after the Pahalgam incident.

The Lok Sabha session was adjourned after a sharp reply from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which was followed the next day by statements from JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the Rajya Sabha. The opposition later walked out after a heated exchange between Shah and Leader of Opposition in the House, Mallikarjun Kharge, over PM Modi’s absence during earlier proceedings.
