‘Grant Me Euthanasia, Case After Case Filed Against Me’: RJD MLA Breaks Down In Patna Court
In a deeply emotional plea during his court appearance, RJD MLA Ritlal Yadav — who has been lodged at Bhagalpur Central Jail since May 1 — said that he has no one left to stand by him.
Amid rising legal troubles, RJD MLA Ritlal Yadav on Wednesday made an emotional appeal seeking euthanasia and broke down before the judge during his appearance at the civil court in Patna.
“Huzoor, grant me euthanasia (the act of deliberately ending life to relieve suffering). One case after another is being filed against me. I have no one to support me,” Yadav told the judge, leaving the courtroom in shock, according to news agency IANS.
He was appearing from Bhagalpur Central Jail, where he has been kept since May 1 after being shifted from Beur Jail in Patna. Sources say he has been placed in a high-security T-cell in Bhagalpur, a cell previously occupied by gangster-turned-politician Anant Singh.
The RJD strongman had surrendered before the Danapur court on April 17 in connection with an extortion case related to a demand of ₹50 lakh from a builder.
“I am exhausted. I do not have any support system here. Please shift me back to Beur,” he pleaded before the judge, as reported by IANS.
While he continues to face multiple legal proceedings, another controversy has emerged involving his wife, Rinku Kumari — a contractual teacher in a government school — who has been accused of breaching service conduct rules by becoming a partner in a private business while still in service.
A report submitted by the education department states that Rinku Kumari has been posted at the same primary school in Kothwan Mushari, Patna, since July 1, 2006. She allegedly became a partner in a construction firm on November 11, 2017 — a clear violation of Rule 16(1) of the Bihar Government Servants’ Conduct Rules, 1976, which prohibits government employees from being involved in private businesses.
