Khalid Jamil Named Head Coach of Senior Indian Men’s Football Team
The decision to appoint the 48-year-old to lead the Blue Tigers was taken by the AIFF Executive Committee, alongside the Technical Committee.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Friday announced the appointment of Khalid Jamil as the new head coach of the Senior Indian Men’s National Football Team, marking the end of the search for a new manager after Manolo Marquez stepped down.
The 48-year-old’s appointment to take charge of the Blue Tigers was approved by the AIFF Executive Committee in the presence of the Technical Committee.
Jamil’s first task as head coach will be to guide the Indian squad in the upcoming Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) Nations Cup, which will be hosted in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The tournament is set to kick off on August 29.
