Mumbai Train Passenger Goes On Vandalism Spree After Being Caught Without Ticket

A passenger vandalised the ticket inspector’s office and assaulted railway staff at Mumbai’s Borivali station after being asked to get down from a Dadar–Virar local train.

One among four passengers who were deboarded from a local train in Mumbai turned aggressive, damaging the ticket inspector’s office and attacking railway personnel after being asked to get off a Dadar–Virar local. While three of the passengers held second-class tickets but were travelling in the first-class coach, one individual had no ticket at all.

A video of the incident, which took place on Saturday afternoon at Mumbai’s Borivali railway station after the four passengers were made to get down from the Dadar–Virar local, has gone viral.

Inside the ticket checker’s office, one of the passengers began using foul language. The video shows the man smashing computer monitors, keyboards, and other equipment, even as railway officials attempted to restrain him.

The passenger barged into the ticket inspector’s cabin, hurling verbal abuses. The video footage shows him going on a rampage, breaking electronic devices such as keyboards and monitors, even as staff tried to contain him. He reportedly issued threats to the staff and also assaulted one of the ticket examiners. In the background, another passenger is seen sobbing and visibly distressed.

The man also threatened those filming the episode while attempting to calm down his female co-passenger in the office. Both the railway staff member and the passenger suffered injuries and were given medical treatment. After receiving first aid, the passenger was handed over to the Government Railway Police for further legal action.
