Mumbai-Bound IndiGo Flight Delayed Over 4 Hours Due to Flat Tyre at Jabalpur Airport
A Mumbai-bound IndiGo flight at Dumna Airport in Jabalpur faced a delay of more than four hours owing to a flat tyre. Passengers were rerouted through Bengaluru and Delhi.
An IndiGo aircraft heading to Mumbai developed a flat tyre while stationed on the apron at Dumna Airport in Jabalpur on Monday, causing a delay of over four hours in departure, an airport official stated.
The IndiGo flight was scheduled to return to Mumbai at 12:40 pm but was held up due to the tyre issue.
Most passengers from the affected flight were subsequently accommodated on alternate flights to their destination via Bengaluru and Delhi, after a replacement tyre was flown in from Delhi, the official added.
An IndiGo spokesperson was unavailable for comment.
The IndiGo flight had arrived at Dumna Airport from Mumbai around noon. One of its tyres deflated while the aircraft was stationary on the apron after all passengers had safely disembarked, said Dumna Airport Director Rajeev Ratan Pandey.
The delayed flight, carrying some of the original passengers, finally departed for Mumbai at 5:30 pm once the rear tyre was replaced, the director confirmed.
