Meme Crypto Group Takes Responsibility For Throwing Sex Toys At WNBA Matches, Cites “Publicity” Motive

A controversial meme cryptocurrency group, creators of the so-called Green Dildo Coin, has claimed responsibility for the recent incidents in which sex toys were tossed onto the court during WNBA games, stating that the acts were aimed at grabbing attention — not insulting the sport or women athletes.

According to a spokesperson for the group, the stunts — which took place three times in recent weeks — were carried out as part of a deliberate publicity campaign to break through what they called an “influencer cabal” controlling online visibility.

“We didn’t do this because we dislike women’s sports or anything of that sort. Some of the narratives being spread are just ridiculous,” the unnamed spokesperson told USA Today.

The representative further claimed that the group chose to create viral moments to avoid having to “pay influencers” or “sell out,” stating:

“We had to go out and do some viral stunts to save us from having to pay that influencer cabal, sacrifice our souls and the fate of the project.”

Looking ahead, the spokesperson added that while the group has other pranks lined up, they would be “less vulgar” and “more tasteful” in nature.

“Moving forward, we have a lot more pranks, but they’re a lot lighter,” the source assured.

Multiple Incidents Across Games

The first known incident occurred on July 29, during a match between the Atlanta Dream and the Golden State Valkyries, where a sex toy was thrown onto the court. Similar episodes followed at other WNBA matches, including another in Atlanta and one in Phoenix.

In Phoenix, the act took a disturbing turn when a sex toy hit another spectator, who was attending the game with his young niece. Authorities arrested Kaden Lopez, 18, who confessed to police that he was influenced by social media trends and decided to throw the object himself.

The WNBA confirmed the arrest of Delbert Carter in connection with one of the Atlanta games and announced that they are working closely with arena security to identify offenders and ensure strict action is taken.

The league condemned the disruptive acts and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a respectful and safe environment for both players and fans.
