‘India Is Not So Unfortunate…’: Owaisi Slams Netanyahu For Offering ‘Advice’ To PM Modi
AIMIM chief Owaisi criticised Israeli PM Netanyahu for advising PM Modi on Trump, calling him a “war criminal” responsible for Palestinian genocide in Gaza.
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday strongly criticised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after he offered to advise Prime Minister Narendra Modi on dealing with US President Donald Trump amid the dispute over rising tariffs on Indian goods, stating that New Delhi is “not so unfortunate” as to take advice from a “war criminal.”
The Hyderabad MP was reacting to a news report regarding Netanyahu’s remarks, where he reportedly referred to Donald Trump as his “terrific friend” and suggested that he would privately advise the Indian Prime Minister on how to manage the US President.
“India is not so unfortunate that its Prime Minister has to take advice from a war criminal and genocidaire who has an outstanding ICC (International Criminal Court) warrant against him,” Owaisi said in a post on X.
He further accused the Israeli Prime Minister of committing genocide against 65,000 Palestinians in Gaza, including 20,000 children.
“Netanyahu is responsible for the genocide of 65,000 Palestinians in Gaza, of whom 20,000 are children killed. 1.2 million have been rendered homeless. Around 2,000 UN employees have been killed and Israel has TWO adverse rulings from the ICJ,” he added.
Owaisi also urged PM Modi to “stand on the right side of history and not become a passive participant.”
The Hyderabad MP has consistently criticised Israel’s military offensive in Gaza launched after the October 2023 Hamas attack.
What Netanyahu Said
His comments came after Netanyahu stated that he would give some “advice” to PM Modi on handling Trump. Netanyahu mentioned that he would do so privately as both PM Modi and Trump are his “terrific” friends.
“PM Modi and Trump are terrific friends of mine. I would give PM Modi some advice on dealing with Trump, but privately,” the Israeli leader reportedly said.
Earlier this week, Trump announced an additional 25% tariff on Indian exports as a ‘penalty’ for continuing to import Russian oil, thereby doubling it to 50% on Indian goods.
