Why Kapil Sharma ‘Chose’ Sumona Chakravarti Over Ankita Lokhande for His Shows
Ankita Lokhande and her husband Vicky Jain were the first guests on Elvish Yadav’s YouTube podcast, where the couple engaged in a candid conversation covering both personal and professional aspects of their lives. Among the topics, Elvish asked Ankita about her time on Comedy Circus, where she was paired with Kapil Sharma.
Curious about her absence from Kapil’s later shows, Elvish asked why Sumona Chakravarti was chosen over her. Ankita replied that she and Kapil were not close, stressing that they were simply colleagues. “Kapil and I did work together, but I don’t share that bond with him. We aren’t friends, just colleagues. Sumona did great on the show, and it’s been so many years now,” she said.
The conversation also touched on Ankita’s experience in Manikarnika, where she revealed she did not charge a fee. “Yes, I didn’t take any payment. Working under Kangana as a director was an amazing experience, and I learnt many new things on set,” she said.
However, things took a cheeky turn when Elvish jokingly asked if she would play Alia Bhatt’s mother in a film. Ankita shot back, “Kyun? 40 saal ki lady buddhi ho jaati hai? Main kahi se bhi 40 saal ki lagti hoon? No, because I don’t look like Alia Bhatt’s mother.”
Currently, Elvish Yadav and Ankita Lokhande can be seen together in Laughter Chefs 2 on Colors TV, alongside Vicky Jain, Rahul Vaidya, Reem Shaikh, Rubina Dilaik, Abhishek Kumar, Krushna Abhishek, Kashmera Shah, Samarth Jurel, Sudesh Lehri, and Nia Sharma. Hosted by Bharti Singh, the show brings together celebrities in a fun cooking format.
In addition, Elvish Yadav appears as a gang leader on MTV Roadies XX: Double Cross alongside Rhea Chakraborty, Neha Dhupia, Prince Narula, and Gautam Gulati.
