Siddhant Issar Swaps Turkey Honeymoon for a ‘Dreamy’ Getaway in Goa
The couple had planned to fly to Kashmir after their wedding and visit Turkey in May.
Siddhant Issar, best known for his role in Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyaag Tandav, recently opened up about how unforeseen circumstances forced him to cancel his honeymoon plans. The actor, son of veteran actor Puneet Issar, tied the knot with his co-star Surbhi Shukla in a private wedding ceremony on April 21. The couple was supposed to fly to Kashmir after the ceremony and later visit Turkey in May. However, both trips are now cancelled.
“We had planned to visit Kashmir on April 23 and return for our reception in Mumbai on May 2,” Siddhant told ETimes. But after the horrific terror attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, the couple decided to cancel their trip. Their Turkey plans also fell through.
“In May, we were supposed to go to Turkey. Call it luck – Kashmir was immediately ruled out, and now Turkey is off the cards as well,” he added.
This comes amid a rising trend of boycotting Turkey and Azerbaijan after both nations expressed support for Pakistan following Operation Sindoor, where the Indian Armed Forces carried out counter-terror strikes on Pakistan between May 6 and 7.
Instead of Kashmir or Turkey, the newlyweds chose to spend time in Goa after their wedding. Siddhant shared with the media that he was enjoying a mini honeymoon with his wife at their family home in Goa, where they had been staying for the past 15 days. He said, “We have owned this house for 15 years, so I know many secret spots. We spent a lot of private time with no one around. One night, we even enjoyed stargazing under a full moon in a secluded area. It was beautiful, private, and truly dreamy.”
Their actual honeymoon is still on the cards. Siddhant revealed they will return to Mumbai to celebrate his birthday on May 19 with family and might plan a honeymoon trip to Greece afterward.
Siddhant met Surbhi on the sets of their show Shaitani Rasmein in 2024. After dating for some time, the couple tied the knot. On May 3, Siddhant took to Instagram to announce they had officially become “Mr. and Mrs. Issar.”
