Farmer Leaders Thank Modi Government for Resisting US Trade Pressure, Safeguarding India’s Agricultural Interests

A large gathering of farmer leaders and cultivators from across India met Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Pusa Campus, New Delhi, to express heartfelt gratitude for the central government’s firm stand protecting farmers’ interests against foreign pressure.

Representatives from major farmer organisations, including the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh and Indian Farmer Chaudhary Charan Singh Organisation, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister Chouhan for their bold decisions. Dharmendra Choudhary lauded the PM’s unwavering commitment to farmers, calling the move “relief for millions of food providers” and a boost to rural self-reliance. Similarly, Virendra Lohan hailed the government’s refusal to allow American companies into agriculture and dairy sectors, affirming that Indian farmers remain the soul of the nation.

Minister Chouhan addressed the gathering, saluting farmers as the “providers and givers of life” and reaffirming the government’s commitment to farmers’ welfare. He announced plans for a strict new law against fake fertilisers and chemicals, and highlighted recent digital insurance payments under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.

Chouhan also praised PM Modi’s ‘Nation First’ decisions, including the cancellation of the Indus Waters Treaty following the Pahalgam terror attack, calling these steps historic and in the country’s best interest.

The meeting underscored broad farmer support for the government’s farmer-friendly, nation-centric policies that protect India’s agricultural sovereignty.
