Parth Samthaan Exits CID 2: Calls His Stint ‘An Absolute Pleasure’

Actor Parth Samthaan, who recently made his comeback on television as ACP Ayushmaan in CID 2, has announced his exit from the show.

Parth’s entry had created buzz, as he stepped into the shoes of the new ACP following the presumed death of the iconic ACP Pradyuman, played by veteran actor Shivaji Satam. With Pradyuman now set to return, Parth has bid farewell to the show.

Sharing a picture from the set, posing in front of the CID logo in his ACP uniform, Parth thanked fans for their love and appreciation. Speaking to Pinkvilla, he clarified that his role was always meant to be temporary:

“It’s been an absolute pleasure to be a part of a cult show like CID, even if it was just for a brief period. I was on board for a few episodes only as a guest appearance, but it later got extended for a couple of months. Initially, we couldn’t confirm anything as it would have spoiled the excitement of the show. And now with Shivaji Sir’s return, that thrilling twist about the mole will be unfolded very soon.”

Parth also mentioned that prior work commitments prevented him from continuing longer, though he thoroughly enjoyed being part of the revival.

CID’s Legacy

The original CID ran successfully for 20 years before wrapping up on October 27, 2018. The show became a household name with Aditya Srivastava as Inspector Abhijeet and Dayanand Shetty as Inspector Daya, alongside Shivaji Satam’s legendary ACP Pradyuman.

The reboot, CID 2, premiered on Sony TV on December 21, 2024, bringing the iconic investigative drama back to screens.

Parth Samthaan’s Career

Parth made his TV debut with Best Friends Forever, but rose to fame as Manik Malhotra in Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan, opposite Niti Taylor. He later played Anurag Basu in Ektaa Kapoor’s Kasautii Zindagii Kay reboot, opposite Erica Fernandes.

In 2024, Parth made his Bollywood debut with the comic drama Ghudchadi, co-starring *Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Khushali Kumar, and Aruna Irani.
