The Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to cancel the Amarnath Yatra for the current year due to the spread of Corona.
Bookings for the Amarnath pilgrimage were stopped in April due to the rapid spread of the second corona wave across the country. In such a situation, it has been announced that like last year, this year also the pilgrimage will be canceled.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha tweeted:
Amarnath Yatra has been canceled due to Corona outbreak. The decision was taken after consultation with the members of the Amarnath Board. However, like last year, all religious functions will be held in Amarnath Dham.
He also said that arrangements would be made for the devotees to have online darshan.
