Police have arrested 10 people for trying to smuggle drugs in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Rs. Police seized a large quantity of drugs and weapons worth Rs 45 crore.
Baramulla District Superintendent of Police Raees Mohammad Butt said on Saturday:
Based on information received that drugs were being smuggled across the Jammu and Kashmir border, the police launched an intensive search operation. 10 were then arrested on suspicion. Investigations revealed that they had planned drug trafficking in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir and outside the Union Territory.
From them, Rs. 9 kg of heroin worth Rs 45 crore, Rs. 2.5 lakh cash and Rs. Police confiscated a check for Rs 1 lakh.
Also, 10 Chinese grenades, 4 Chinese rifles and a large quantity of ammunition were seized from them.
Four of the 10 were arrested in Jammu. He said that out of the four, Mua belonged to the state of Punjab.
