There have been frequent clashes between the Taliban and the military in Afghanistan. In this situation, the army was involved in attacks against the Taliban in areas including Nangarhar, Lakhman, Faryab and Helmand.
The attack killed 258 Taliban in the past 24 hours. A further 156 people were injured.
Similarly on Thursday, 19 Taliban were killed in attacks in Shah Joy and Shinkai districts of Sabul province. Another 8 people were injured.
