Police have arrested a man in connection with the brutal assault of a woman in West Bengal.
A video of a woman and a man being attacked with a bamboo stick on a road in Chopra, Uttar Dinajpur district of West Bengal has gone viral on social media.
Parties including the BJP have expressed strong opposition to this incident. When no complaint was lodged in this regard, the police, after examining the authenticity of the video, voluntarily registered a case and conducted an investigation.
In this case, the police arrested Tajimul, a member of the Trinamool Congress, who was involved in the attack. Following this, he underwent a medical examination at a local hospital and was produced before the Islampur court.
