Adjournment of bail plea of Senthil Balaji, who was arrested by the enforcement department…

The Supreme Court has adjourned the bail plea of former minister Senthil Balaji, who was arrested by the enforcement department, to July 22.

Former Minister Senthil Balaji was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate last year in a case of the Prevention of Illegal Money Transfer Act. Senthilbalaji has been lodged in Puzhal Jail for more than a year. The Madras District Principal Sessions Court rejected his bail pleas. After that the High Court of Madras had dismissed it successively.

In this case, Senthil Balaji has filed a petition in the Supreme Court, seeking bail in the Supreme Court and seeking a stay on the High Court’s order regarding the trial period. The Enforcement Directorate filed a written reply to this and objected to the grant of bail to Senthilbalaji.

However, this case came up for hearing on July 10. At that time, Tushar Mehta, the advocate of the enforcement department, requested the Supreme Court to postpone the hearing to another date. He requested adjournment as he is appearing in another case today and tomorrow.

To this, lawyer Senthil Balaji accused the enforcement department of deliberately prolonging the case. However, accepting Tushar Mehta’s argument, the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing on the bail petition till today (July 12). In this case, the Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing on the petition filed by Senthil Balaji to the 22nd.
