Annamalai has raised suspicions about the encounter as there seems to be an attempt to hide some truth as three DMK members are involved in Armstrong’s murder.
Armstrong, who was the state president of the Bahujan Samaj Party, was assassinated on the 5th. So far 11 people have been arrested in this incident. The CBCID police have taken all the 11 arrested into custody and are investigating. Rowdy Thiruvenkadam was also arrested in the Armstrong murder case.
In this case, today at 5.30 am, the police have taken Thiruvenkadam to the Madhavaram lakeside area of Chennai where the killers had stashed their weapons. Then the rowdy tried to escape from the police in Thiruvenkadam.
It is said that the rowdy tried to attack the police with the weapons that Thiruvenkadam had hidden. Subsequently, the police shot and killed Thiruvenkadam in an encounter in self-defence. There are 3 murder cases pending against the shot dead rowdy Thiruvenkadam.
Thiruvenkadam, the rowdy who was arrested in connection with Armstrong’s murder, was shot dead. According to the police, Thiruvenkadam was the one who posed as the auto driver before killing Armstrong and was the one who slashed Armstrong from behind.
In this regard, BJP state president Annamalai posted on the social media about this encounter, “Thiruvengadam, who surrendered in the murder case of Bahujan Samaj Party’s state president Armstrong, was shot dead by the Tamil Nadu police in an encounter today. Thiruvengatam said that he shot and killed him while fleeing.
The fact that a man who surrendered to the murder tried to escape has raised serious suspicions. As three DMK members were involved in Armstrong’s murder, it seems that there is an attempt to cover up some truth. It also raises the question of whether Armstrong’s murder case is headed in the right direction.
I urge the DMK government to properly investigate the shooting death of this Thiruvenkadam by the police, and to conduct a fair and expeditious investigation into the murder of Armstrong. Annamalai said.
