Tamil Nadu BJP Vice President Narayanan Tirupathi has criticized that it is funny that parties including DMK, Congress and other parties are jumping around saying that their alliance has won a big victory and BJP has lost badly on the results of by-elections that have been held in some states recently.
With the Lok Sabha elections over, it has announced the date of by-elections for 13 constituencies in Tamil Nadu including Vikravandi constituency, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. The vote registration took place on the 10th and the counting of votes took place on the 13th.
Based on the election results, the BJP has suffered a major setback in the 13-seat by-election. India Alliance has won 11 constituencies. Congress – 5, Trinamool Congress – 4, AAP – 1, DMK – 1, BJP – 1 seats won. An independent candidate won one seat.
However, Tamil Nadu BJP vice-president Narayanan Tirupathi has criticized the fact that the BJP has lost heavily in some of the by-elections and it is funny that it is jumping around. In a statement issued by him in this regard, “Trinamul Congress has won all the four by-elections held in West Bengal.
BJP has come second in all constituencies. It is to be noted that the Congress, which contested in two constituencies, has lost its deposits in both the constituencies and has been relegated to the fifth position in Bagda constituency. Also, the Communist Party (CPM) lost its deposit in Ranagat Takshin constituency and got 13,082 votes. BJP got 74,485 votes in that constituency. CPM contested in Manikdala constituency with just 9502 votes and lost even the deposit in both the contested constituencies.
An independent candidate won the Rupali constituency in Bihar. Second place goes to BJP’s ally United Janata Dal. Rashtriya Janata Dal of the INDI alliance has been relegated to the third position. Opposition parties are taking advantage of someone else’s victory. In Himachal Pradesh, the ruling Congress party has won two out of three seats, while the BJP has won one seat. The BJP has won the Amarwara constituency in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh.
In Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party of the INDI Alliance won, while the Congress of the same INDI Alliance was relegated to the third position, followed by the BJP. It is ridiculous for the Congress to call this a victory for their alliance. In the BJP-ruled state of Uttarakhand, the Congress has won two seats by a narrow margin, but it must be accepted that the BJP has lost.
Everyone who knows politics will agree that the failure of the National Democratic Alliance was not a shock, a disappointment or a surprise, despite the fact that the ADMK had boycotted the Vikravandi by-elections in Tamil Nadu and acted as the ‘B’ team of the ADMK. The truth is that in many states, the Congress and the Communist parties have failed miserably and have been relegated to the third and fifth positions, unable to even retain their deposits.
It is cheap green politics that BJP lost even though it accepted the defeat, not bothering about the shame of losing to the same alliance party in Punjab and West Bengal in the name of INDI alliance. These by-election results make it very clear that the INDI alliance today is in a ‘surgery is a success, the patient is dead’ situation.
It is a fact that NDA has gained strength in by elections except Uttarakhand. If this situation continues, the Congress and the Communist parties will disappear and soon the present INDI alliance on a blank sheet of paper will break into pieces.” He said.
