Budget session of Parliament begins today… Central Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented economic analysis

The central government has assured the opposition parties that they are ready to discuss all issues in the parliament.

The parliamentary elections were held in 7 phases last April, May and June. The counting of votes took place on June 4. At the end of the counting of votes, no party got an absolute majority. With the support of coalition parties, the BJP formed a coalition government. Last June 9, Narendra Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister for the 3rd time. 71 Central Ministers also took oath.

The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha was held last month. The new MPs have been sworn in for 2 days. President Drarubathi Murmu addressed the joint meeting of both houses. A vote of thanks for his speech was debated. Prime Minister Modi answered and spoke.

Following this, the budget session of Parliament begins today (Monday). Central Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Economic Survey today.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) he will present the Central Budget for the current financial year 2024-2025. As the parliamentary elections were coming up, he presented the interim Central budget on February 1 last. Accordingly, he will present the complete Central budget tomorrow. This is the 7th Central budget he is presenting.

The Central budget session is going on till August 12. That is, 19 sessions are going on. The central government plans to table 6 bills. They include a bill to replace the 90-year-old Aviation Act. The central government is also seeking parliamentary approval for the Central budget for President-ruled Kashmir.

The opposition parties are planning to put pressure on the central government by raising issues such as NEET examination irregularities, train accidents, unemployment etc.

Meanwhile, the central government held an all-party meeting in Delhi yesterday to conduct the Central budget session smoothly. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh presided. Rajnath Singh and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju highlighted the central government’s position.

After the all-party meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said in a press conference, “The all-party meeting was attended by 55 leaders from 44 political parties. There was a fruitful discussion. It is the joint responsibility of the central government and the opposition parties to run the parliament smoothly. Follow the rules and discuss any issue in the parliament.” The central government is ready,” he said.
