The Central Budget for the year 2024-25 will be tabled in Parliament today.
The full Central Budget for the current financial year 2024-25 has not been presented yet. Due to Lok Sabha elections this year, only the interim budget was presented last February.
Now that the elections are over and Prime Minister Modi is in power for the 3rd time at the center, the government is busy in presenting the complete budget for this financial year.
For this, Prime Minister Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman have been consulting with various parties including economists for the past few weeks. Accordingly, the budget for the year 2024-25 has been prepared. Following this, the Central budget session started yesterday. The meeting will continue till 12th of next month (August).
In this case, the main event of this session, the budget presentation is happening today (Tuesday). Central Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present this budget. This will be the 7th budget presented by him. As it is the first Central budget to be presented in the 3rd term of Prime Minister Modi, it seems that various development projects will be announced in this budget.

Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha Service Review Committee met yesterday and discussed the agenda for the Central budget series. 20 hours were allocated for budget discussion. It was also decided to discuss the grant requests related to railways, education, health, MSME and food processing sectors. At the same time, some opposition members who participated in this meeting insisted that some other issues should be discussed in the current series.
