Defense Minister Rajnath Singh thanked Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the maximum allocation of Rs.6 lakh 21 thousand 924 crore for the defense sector in the budget.
In his statement in this regard, he said that 12.9 percent of the total allocation in the budget has been allocated to the defense sector.
Rajnath Singh said that Rs.1 lakh 72 thousand crore will be spent on strengthening the Central Armed Forces and Rs 1 lakh 5 thousand 518 crore will be spent on procurement of arms from domestic companies for the defense sector. He expressed hope that through this the Self-reliant India project will be strengthened.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also mentioned in the report that Rs 6,500 crore will be spent on road works in the border villages.
Similarly, Home Minister Amit Shah welcomed the Union Budget.
