148 dead bodies identified in Wayanad landslide and handed over to their relatives…

The rescue operations of the Wayanad landslide victims are going on for the sixth consecutive day.

Heavy landslides occurred in areas including Suralmalai and Mundakkai in Wayanad, Kerala. As of now, 215 corpses and 143 body parts have been recovered while 361 people have died.

Of this number, 98 are men, 87 are women and 30 are children. At the same time, 148 bodies have been identified and handed over to their relatives.

District Collector Megha Sri said that more than 1,300 rescue teams are in the field and the rescue work is going on fast for the 6th day.
