Gautam Adani, one of India’s leading industrialists, has attracted everyone’s attention by hosting his son’s wedding in a simple manner and donating Rs 10,000 crore.
No one can forget the grand and luxurious wedding of Anand Ambani, son of Reliance Group Chairman Mukesh Ambani, a few months ago. The celebrations began a year before the wedding. From local to international celebrities, the Ambani family attended the wedding.
The groom Anand Ambani’s mother Neeta and sister-in-law SHLOKA each wore a necklace worth Rs 500 crore. The watch worn by Anand Ambani was worth Rs 67.50 crore. The total cost of such a luxurious wedding was Rs 5,000 crore. This is more than the cost of the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana of England.
It has been a few months since Anand Ambani’s wedding. Why is this information now? The question may arise. The answer is that it is an Adani family wedding.
Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani are important businessmen and leading wealthy people in India and the world. Since both are professional rivals, it was expected that Adani would give Ambani a tough fight in his son’s wedding as well. But Gautam Adani has completed the wedding of his youngest son Jeet in a very simple manner.
Jeet and Diva, daughter of famous diamond merchant Jain Shah, were married in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, according to Jain traditional rituals. Only close relatives of both families attended the wedding. No political party leaders, film celebrities, or businessmen were invited. This came as a surprise to many.
Gautam Adani, who shared the wedding photos on social media, said, “With the blessings of the Almighty, Jeet and Diva have tied the knot. It was a small and very private ceremony, so even if we wanted to, we could not invite all the well-wishers, for which I apologize. I request you all to bless the Jeet-Diva couple with love.”
Gautam Adani has donated Rs 10,000 crore to various welfare schemes, which is more than what it would cost to organize a lavish wedding for his son. He said that this money will be used for health, education, skill development, etc. The Adani family also got 21 differently-abled women married. It has been reported that from now on, 500 differently-abled women will be married every year at a cost of Rs 10 lakh each.
Gautam Adani, who has said that he raised his child the way an ordinary worker would, says that he gave his wealth to good causes instead of squandering it on empty luxuries. This is an important lesson for those who spend wastefully for the sake of prestige.
If we consider the difficulty and hard work we have put in to earn every rupee we spend, we can definitely prevent wasteful spending.
