PM Modi invites French companies to work with India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron jointly addressed the 14th India-France CEO Forum in Paris today.

The forum brought together CEOs from various companies from both sides, focusing on sectors such as defence, space, emerging technologies, infrastructure, etc.

Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the expanding India-France trade and economic cooperation and the impetus it has given to the strategic partnership between the two countries.

He highlighted India’s attractiveness as a global investment destination, based on its stable political and predictable policy environment.

Talking about the reforms announced in the recent Budget, Prime Minister Modi said that 100% FDI is now allowed in the insurance sector and private participation has been allowed in the civil nuclear sector.

He highlighted the government’s commitment to continue reforms, citing the streamlining of customs duties and the introduction of a simplified income tax system to ease living.

He also highlighted the establishment of a High Level Committee on Regulatory Reforms to establish a trust-based economic governance. He also informed that over 40,000 compliance procedures have been streamlined in the last few years.

Prime Minister Modi invited French companies to explore the immense opportunities offered by India’s growth in the sectors of defence, energy, highways, civil aviation, space, healthcare, fintech and sustainable development.

Describing the global appreciation and interest in India’s capabilities, talent and innovation, and its newly launched AI, semiconductor, quantum, critical minerals and hydrogen projects, Prime Minister Modi invited French companies to work with India for mutual growth and progress.

He also stressed the importance of actively engaging in these sectors. He reaffirmed the commitment of the two countries to foster partnerships based on innovation, investment and technology.

It is noteworthy that the event was also addressed by External Affairs Minister Dr.S.Jaishankar, French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barot, and French Minister for Economy, Finance and Industry and Digital Sovereignty Eric Lombard.
