Minister M.P. Swaminathan has said that all commercial establishments, hostels and factories in Tamil Nadu should have name boards in Tamil.

Speaking to reporters in Udakka, he said that all commercial establishments in Tamil Nadu, including private hostels and factories, are being continuously advised to put up name boards in Tamil and that awareness is being created among traders to fully implement it.

Similarly, meetings are being held regularly with industry officials regarding putting up name boards in Tamil and that companies that do not comply with the relevant laws and regulations will be fined and legal action will be taken.

Therefore, he said that traders should allocate a separate space for Tamil on the name boards and that traders should give priority to Tamil.

Taking into account the fact that the Thirukkural inscriptions written on most government buses in Tamil Nadu have been destroyed, Saminathan said that steps will be taken to completely write the Thirukkural, which has been destroyed.
