The High Court has refused to stay the order issued by the special court to merge the additional charge sheets in the case against Minister Senthil Balaji into a single case.
In the ongoing case of Senthil Balaji, who was the Transport Minister during the previous regime, the Central Crime Branch police filed additional charge sheets against more than 2000 people including Senthil Balaji.
The special court that hears cases against Chennai MPs and MLAs had issued an order to merge these additional charge sheets into a single case.
The case filed against this came up for hearing before Madras High Court Justice Ilandhiryan.
At that time, the judge refused to stay the order issued by the special court to merge the additional charge sheets into a single case.
He also ordered the police department to respond to the petition by March 13 and adjourned the hearing.
