PM Modi Offers Prayers at Gangadevi Temple in Mukhwa – Emphasizes Boosting Tourism

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the revered Gangadevi Temple in Mukhwa, Uttarakhand, where he participated in special prayers and highlighted the need to diversify the tourism sector in the region. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Gangadevi, considered the divine embodiment of the holy Ganga River. The temple authorities welcomed the Prime Minister with traditional honors and presented him with sacred offerings.

Upon entering the temple premises, PM Modi circumambulated the sanctum, experiencing the spiritual energy of the place. After completing his prayers, local tribal communities of Uttarakhand welcomed the Prime Minister in their traditional manner. Dressed in colorful ethnic attire, the tribal people performed traditional dances and played folk musical instruments, expressing their excitement and joy over his visit.

Later, PM Modi visited Uttarkashi, where he flagged off a mountaineering expedition and an adventure biking rally. These events witnessed participation from tourism officials, adventure enthusiasts, and travelers from across the country.

Public Address – PM Modi’s Call for Tourism Growth

Speaking at a public gathering, PM Modi emphasized the need to enhance tourism opportunities in Uttarakhand.

He stated:

“Uttarakhand is a sacred pilgrimage destination. The holy rivers Ganga and Yamuna originate here. This state is not only a spiritual center but also a paradise for nature lovers. During winter, activities like mountaineering and skiing create thrilling experiences. Hence, we must expand and modernize the tourism sector.”

He further added:

“Promoting tourism will open up employment opportunities for the local youth. The government is committed to enhancing all necessary infrastructure to attract more tourists to Uttarakhand.”

Initiatives for Tourism Development

To boost tourism in Uttarakhand, the government will undertake the following measures:
Implementation of multiple tourism projects
Improvement of essential infrastructure at tourist sites
Upgradation of facilities in mountainous regions
Preservation of local tribal culture and traditions
