Tamil Nadu BJP state president Annamalai has accused the INDI Alliance parties of regularly spreading false information.
Annamalai’s Statement:
In his statement, Annamalai claimed that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, key DMK leaders, and the entire INDI Alliance have made it a habit to propagate lies. Specifically, he alleged that Congress MP Sasikanth Senthil misrepresented his statements regarding Tamil students’ success in UPSC exams and falsely claimed that he blamed their failure on their lack of Hindi proficiency.
He further criticized Sasikanth Senthil, stating that a former government officer lowering his standards to spread falsehoods like an online propaganda tool for the DMK is regrettable. To refute these allegations, Annamalai stated, “I am attaching the actual video of my statement so people can see the truth for themselves.”
UPSC Success Rate of Tamil Nadu Students:
Annamalai acknowledged that the percentage of rural Tamil Nadu students passing the UPSC exams is indeed low. However, he denied that the Union government was responsible for this and instead placed the blame on the Tamil Nadu government.
He argued that the DMK-Congress alliance has deliberately weakened government schools to promote private schools, which they run. This, in turn, has made it difficult for rural students to receive quality education, leading to their lower success rate in competitive exams like UPSC.
Criticism of the DMK Government:
Annamalai further questioned, “Will Sasikanth Senthil admit that Tamil Nadu’s government school curriculum is not on par with private school syllabi?” He accused the state government of failing to provide quality education to its students and challenged the DMK to accept the National Education Policy (NEP), which he claimed would help Tamil Nadu’s government school students gain better educational opportunities.
Finally, he asked, “Will Sasikanth Senthil at least now support the NEP, which is designed to ensure quality education for students in Tamil Nadu?”
Key Issues Highlighted:
- The low UPSC success rate among Tamil Nadu students—Annamalai denied that it was due to the Union government’s policies and instead blamed Tamil Nadu’s deteriorating government school system.
- Quality of Tamil Nadu’s education system—He alleged that the DMK-Congress alliance deliberately weakened public education to promote private schools.
- National Education Policy (NEP) as a solution—Annamalai stated that accepting the NEP would benefit Tamil Nadu’s students, but the DMK government continues to oppose it.
This debate has sparked discussions on the quality of Tamil Nadu’s education, the role of state and central policies in student success, and the DMK government’s approach to educational reforms.
