A 6-storey building collapsed near Surat, Gujarat. While 15 people have been injured in the collapse of the building, it is feared that many others may be trapped in the rubble. Rescue operations are currently in full swing.
Sachin Pali is a village near Surat which is known as the industrial city of Gujarat. It has been raining in the area for the past few days. Meanwhile, a 6-storey building there has collapsed. Just like a deck of cards, the 6-storey building is ground level. The local police were informed about the collapse of the building.
The police, who rushed to the scene immediately, are engaged in the task of removing the debris along with the rescue workers. It is said that 5 to 6 families were living in the collapsed building. While 15 people have been rescued with injuries, many more are feared trapped in the debris.
Senior police officers and deputy mayor Narendra Patil have rushed to the spot and expedited rescue operations. Officials said that if there is any violation of rules in the building, appropriate action will be taken. The first phase of information has been revealed that this building was constructed in 2017.
The people of the area said that the building was damaged and the building could not withstand the rains that have been falling for the past few days and may have collapsed. Police Commissioner of Surat city said, “The building collapsed at around 3 pm today. Out of 30 flats in the building, only 4 to 5 flats were inhabited. All the other flats were empty. We fear that 5-6 people may have been trapped in the debris.”
