A golden treasure in a jug found in the soil

Fearing that the jar might contain a bomb, no one opened it to see what was inside.

There is a private rubber plantation in Chengala area near Kannur, Kerala. Here the workers dug pits to construct rainwater drainage. A pit was dug to a depth of 10 feet in one part of the garden. Then they saw that the jug was buried in the soil. The workers took it out.

However, fearing that it might be a bomb, the workers did not open it to see what was inside. Kannur city police was informed about this. After that the police came there and searched the jug. It turned out that there was no bomb in it. Later, when the jar was opened, it was discovered that there was treasure inside.

Inside the jar were 17 pearl beads, 13 gold medallions, 4 Kasimani garlands, 2 kammals and silver coins. Knowing this, the people of the area eagerly flocked to see the treasures in person. Subsequently, the police recovered the items and handed them over to the revenue department.

The gold recovered from the soil was handed over to the Thaliparambu court. Archeology department officials who got the information are going to the spot and are investigating. There was a stir due to this incident.
