A shocking incident has occurred near Thuckalay in Kanyakumari district. Two school-going sisters, one in 6th grade and the other in 9th grade, left their home for a casual outing when they were abducted by an unknown individual. The incident remained a mystery for four days, but after an intense search by the police, the girls were rescued, bringing relief but also raising serious concerns.
Ajith Kumar, a lawyer practicing at the Padmanabhapuram Court in Thuckalay, has been accused of abducting the schoolgirls and confining them in his office, where he allegedly subjected them to sexual abuse. Further investigation has revealed that Ajith Kumar’s father, A.P. Rajan, is also a lawyer and a prominent functionary in the Shiv Sena political party.
On the night of the incident, the girls were cycling around their locality when Ajith Kumar allegedly intimidated them and forcibly took them away on his motorcycle. He then confined them in his office and subjected them to sexual assault, according to police reports.
Upon receiving information, Thuckalay police launched an extensive investigation and arrested Ajith Kumar. He has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and multiple charges have been filed against him. Authorities are now probing whether others were involved in the crime and whether the victims were subjected to further abuse by additional individuals in the office.
The incident has sparked outrage and deep concern among the public. The fact that a lawyer, someone expected to uphold the law, has been implicated in such a heinous crime has added to the shock. Investigators are also looking into whether Ajith Kumar had any accomplices and if any others had taken part in the abuse at his office.
Interestingly, Ajith Kumar’s wedding was scheduled to take place on the same day he was arrested. However, following his arrest under the POCSO Act, the wedding was canceled, adding another dramatic twist to the case.
The swift and effective action by the police led to the safe rescue of the two girls within four days. However, in order to prevent such crimes in the future, legal experts and social activists stress the need for stringent action against offenders and those who aid them. Bringing all those involved to justice is the only way to ensure the safety and security of children in society.
As the investigation continues, there is a growing demand for the authorities to take strict legal measures against all those responsible. The case highlights the need for stricter enforcement of child protection laws and increased vigilance in identifying and preventing such crimes in the future.
