After 18 years, lottery ticket sales resume in Tamil Nadu ….

The news that a major consultation is being held in Chennai Fort regarding the resumption of lottery ticket sales in Tamil Nadu has heated up the Tamil Nadu political arena.
In Tamil Nadu, lottery sales were banned during Jayalalithaa’s rule in 2003. Lottery tickets have not been allowed to be sold in Tamil Nadu for about 18 years since then. In between, when DMK leader Karunanidhi became the Chief Minister in 2006, an attempt was made to bring back lottery ticket sales. Martin, who is said to be the king of the lottery business, was very close to the artist family at the time. He also produced the film Lottery Martin based on the story line of the artist who was also the Chief Minister.
With all this in place it was expected that the artist regime would be allowed to sell the lottery again. But no matter how hard Martin tried, he could not bring lottery sales to Tamil Nadu until the artist’s rule was over. Meanwhile, after the AIADMK government was in power for about ten years, Martin could not get permission to sell the lottery. In this situation, the DMK has come to power in Tamil Nadu again. Within days of the DMK taking office, Congress MP Karthi Chidambaram voiced support for the lottery sale.
It was immediately said that this was not an arbitrary statement of support. It was said to be the first step in bringing the lottery back to Tamil Nadu. Because it was not just the Congress MP who voted in favor of the lottery, but also the son of former Finance Minister of India P. Chidambaram. Because Martin is very close to many Union Ministers, including P. Chidambaram. Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu government is in deep economic crisis. Tamil Nadu does not have the funds to continue the ongoing projects. The engine of the state of Tamil Nadu is forced to run on Tasmag stores.
These financial resources are not enough to fulfill the promises made during the DMK election. Can’t buy more loans. So they say that only by re-allowing high-income businesses like the lottery can Kalla build and increase the revenue of Tamil Nadu. They are also actively advising on how to bring the lottery ticket back to Tamil Nadu without any problem. A few days ago, Finance Minister PDR Palanivel Thiyaga Rajan was asked during a press conference whether the lottery would be sold again in Tamil Nadu. He did not directly answer yes or no.
In this situation, a rumor is circulating that Lottery President Martin went to Chennai Fort and met Finance Minister PDR Palanivel Rajan. Lottery Martin, who was in charge during the AIADMK regime, says the reason for his current presence in the General Secretariat is the closeness of one of his sons, the so-called groom, who is now the center of power. It is said that lottery sales in Tamil Nadu have almost given the green light.
