The largest chemical plant is located in Rockton, Chicago, USA. Lubricating oil, grease and other chemical liquids are manufactured at the chemical plant in Gemsul. It is the largest grease factory in the United States.
In this situation, a terrible fire broke out in this chemical factory yesterday. Upon learning of the accident, rescue and firefighters rushed to the factory and carried out rescue operations. All 70 workers trapped inside the factory were rescued safely.
Following this, the fire brigade was involved in trying to put out the fire in the factory. However, as the fire spread rapidly, there was a slowdown in firefighting operations.
Also, the use of water in the firefighting operation has been stopped due to fears that trying to extinguish the fire using water may cause air pollution along with the chemical.
Thus, efforts have been made to control fires in the chemical industry using other means. Residents in the area are planning to evacuate to safer areas as the fire department says the blaze at the factory could continue for a few more days.
