Amitabh Bachchan Welcomes Women Officers On KBC Independence Day Special: Key Highlights
The Independence Day special episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (season 17) turned into a memorable evening as Amitabh Bachchan hosted three decorated women officers of the Indian Armed Forces — Colonel Sofiya Qureshi (Indian Army), Wing Commander Vyomika Singh (Indian Air Force) and Commander Prerna Deosthalee (Indian Navy).
The episode focused on Operation Sindoor, India’s decisive airstrikes on terror camps in Pakistan and PoK, with the officers sharing their first-hand experiences of the mission that shook Pakistan’s terror network.
What The Officers Said
- Colonel Sofiya Qureshi recalled the Pahalgam terror attack and stressed that Operation Sindoor was not just a retaliation but a message to the world. “This is a new India with a new thinking,” she said, adding that her family’s military legacy dates back to the ancestors of Rani Lakshmi Bai. “I did not grow up listening to lullabies but to stories of bravery and courage,” she remarked.
- Wing Commander Vyomika Singh highlighted the speed and precision of the mission. “From 1:05 am to 1:30 am, we completed the entire operation in just 25 minutes,” she revealed. She also shared her personal bond with Pahalgam, pointing out that Pakistan carried out the attack to disrupt tourism, which had hit record numbers last year. Her mother, present in the audience, proudly said that Vyomika is “the daughter of the nation.”
- Commander Prerna Deosthalee spoke about the meticulous planning of the operation, emphasising that while targets were destroyed, civilian safety was ensured. “No civilian casualties occurred, and that was our top priority,” she said.
