Annamalai agitation allegation regarding DMK Sridharan

BJP Tamil Nadu President Annamalai has leveled serious allegations against DMK State Executive Committee member Sridharan. He stated that in December 2023, Sridharan had allegedly assaulted a female police inspector who was on security duty at the Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai.

Following this incident, Sridharan reportedly went into hiding and later obtained anticipatory bail from the Madras High Court. Now, Annamalai has raised concerns that the same individual, who was accused in this case, has presented a birthday gift to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, and that the Chief Minister accepted the gift with a smile.

In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Annamalai questioned, “How does the Chief Minister, who is responsible for the police force, welcoming a person accused of assaulting a female police officer, reflect on the law enforcement system and the public?”

Furthermore, he alleged that the continuous rise in crimes against women in Tamil Nadu and the fearlessness of criminals are due to their association with the ruling DMK. He pointed out that this incident serves as yet another example of the DMK’s protection of offenders.

As of now, there has been no official response from the DMK regarding Annamalai’s statement. However, this controversy has sparked widespread debate in political circles.
